Last week, two prominent national reports graded Montgomery Public Schools at the top of the class. U.S. News & World Report gives Montgomery's Loveless Academic Magnet High School its highest honors in the spring update of its prestigious America's Best High Schools report. Montgomery's is the only public school system in the state of Alabama to receive a Gold Award, and one of only four schools in the U.S. Overall, Loveless ranks 22nd among all high schools evaluated in the full report, out of more than 18,000 schools nationwide.
Montgomery had two more public schools recognized with Bronze Awards on the list - Booker T. Washington Magnet High School and Brewbaker Technology Magnet High School.
Newsweek magazine's list of the 1300 Top Public High Schools in America ranks Montgomery's Loveless High School in the top 2%, ahead of Auburn, Homewood, Hoover and Huntsville area public high schools. And, the White House selected only two Presidential Scholars from Alabama this year, one of them is Jacinth Greywoode, a Montgomery Public Schools graduate.
