Decision 2008: Federal Probe Sought in Perry County Voter Fraud

Perry County District Attorney Michael Jackson says he will ask the Justice Department and FBI to investigate the unusually high turnout and potential absentee ballot problems during the June 3rd primary elections.  A federal observer reported one candidate loitering at several polling places throughout the day. He's also accused of intimidating voters.

This comes after the state's attorney general's office subpoenaed records relating to Tuesday's primary election. Jackson says he expects federal and state observers in Perry County for the July 15th primary runoff.
