Police Capture Suspects in Dothan Area Shoplifting Scheme

Dothan, Al. (WSFA) -- Dothan police believe they've captured the suspects responsible for a recent rash of commercial burglaries over the last month.

Twenty-five year old Michael Patrick Donahue of North Foster Street is charged with nine counts of Burglary Third Degree.

Twenty-nine year old Johnathan Elko of Newton, Alabama is charged with two counts of Burglary Third Degree and six counts of Theft of Property Second Degree.

Police say the two man are responsible for a shoplifting scheme a at Target and Sam's Club stores.

The two are also accused of burglaries at numerous other businesses including music stores, an attorney's law office, auto body shops and even a church.

Donahue is being held at the city jail on $45,000 bond while Elko was transfered to the Houston County Jail where he has no bond.

May 8, 2008 - Marble Works located at 307 Catalpa Street
May 8, 2008 - Cobb, Derrick, Boyd, & White Law Office located at 206 North Lena Street
May 11, 2008 - First Baptist Church located at 300 West Main Street
May 22, 2008 - Dothan Auto Body located at 105 Railroad Avenue
May 24, 2008 - Cobb, Derrick, Boyd, & White Law Office located at 206 North Lena Street
May 27, 2008 - Capital Imports located at 442 South Oates Street
May 28, 2008 - Mann's Radiator located at 107 East Washington Street
May 28, 2008 - Bullets located at 176 South Foster Street
May 31, 2008 - Tri-State Diesel located at 116 South Lena Street
May 31, 2008 - Arnold's Automotive located at 216 South Oates Street
May 31, 2008 - The Rim Shop located at 766 South Oates Street
June 5, 2008 - Whitman Music located at 2257 Montgomery Highway
June 5, 2008 - Whitman Music located at 2257 Montgomery Highway
June 7, 2008 - Jim Whaley Tires located at 2237 Montgomery Highway
