Some strong storms rolled through much of the afternoon bringing heavy downpours and winds gusting up to 50 miles per hour. There were several reports of flooding and trees down.
Those same storms also left many without power. Officials with Alabama Power tell WSFA 12 News that 3,600 hundred customers are without power in the Montgomery area. They say the heaviest amounts are mainly down Troy Highway, the Southern Boulevard and Cloverdale neighborhood. Two hundred people are in the dark in Prattville, and nearly 2,000 people don't have electricity in Selma.
