Montgomery, Al. (WSFA) -- A Montgomery man arrested in the death of an Autauga County Sheriff's deputy has pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide.
Fifty-two year old Charles Benton, Jr. entered the plea Monday.
Benton, whose trial was to begin Thursday, was charged with three counts of murder and three counts of manslaughter after killing Sgt. Micah Burks in an accident in August of 2006.
Benton also faced murder charges in the death of his own wife, Teresa and his grandson Joshua Driver, who also died in the accident.
Benton's car pulled out in front of Sgt. Burks' patrol car while he was traveling down Highway 31 in Pine Level.
Sentencing has not yet been announced.
