Winner Announced in World's Ugliest Dog Competition

The winner of this years World's Ugliest Dog contest has a few other issues as well.

Gus, from St. Petersburg, Florida took the top prize content Saturday at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Northern California.

What makes Gus so unique is he only has three legs, one eye and no hair, except for a white tuft on the top of his head.

The pedigree Chinese crested also has cancer and is about to undergo treatment again.

His owner, Jeanenne Teed, brought him all the way to California to compete for the dubious distinction.

After the excitement of the moment, Teed characterized her dog's reaction: "Well, I think right now he's ready for a nap."

The Chinese crested breed is a popular choice in this annual contest.

Last year's champ, Elwood, was a Chinese crested and Chihuahua mix.

Along with a cash prize of $500. Gus is expected to make his round of TV show appearances over the next couple of months.
