Montgomery County Sheriff's Department Gets Increase in Funding for Fuel

Fighting crime and the high cost of fuel hitting Montgomery County taxpayers where it hurts in the pocketbook.

On Tuesday, the Montgomery County Commission approved a 46 percent increase in it's budget for fuel cost in the sheriff's office. That's a 130-thousand dollar increase in funding through September 30th.

The original budget had fuel costing 280-thousand dollars for the year. Add those 2 numbers up, and it is now costing 410-thousand dollars for fuel.
