The Montgomery Surgical Center was the first freestanding surgery center licensed in the state of Alabama.

Founded in 1984 by a group of local physicians, the surgical center began operations at an average of 250 patients per month. Since that time, the facility has expanded in physical appearance, as well as caseload size (currently averaging 625 patients per month).

The center now houses

  • six pre-operative bays
  • six operating rooms
  • two Endoscopy rooms
  • one mammotest suite
  • 14 recovery bays
  • five overnight patient rooms
  • waiting areas
  • business office 

Extended stay has allowed the center to perform more advanced procedures such as laparoscopic cholecystectomy and ACL repair.

Gastroenterology and pain management services are also offered in addition to

  • plastic surgery
  • oral surgery
  • ophthalmology
  • shoulder arthroscopy
