Breaking news, severe weather and events that impact your community; all forces that attract Jennifer Oravet to the news industry.

Jennifer joined the WSFA 12 News team in 2006, after a short stint at WVTM, the NBC affiliate in Birmingham, Alabama. Her roots run deep in Alabama. Jennifer grew up in Jasper, then moved to the "Loveliest Village on the Plains", where she graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Mass Communication and Spanish.

Jennifer covers the CrimeStoppers franchise, dedicated to helping local law enforcement agencies bring justice to victims. You can also catch her on Sundays, anchoring the evening news.

If Jennifer's away from the newsroom, you can probably find her spending time with her family and friends (preferably at the beach), cheering on the Auburn Tigers and spoiling her puppy, Gus.
