Honoring Civil Rights Hero E.D. Nixon

Montgomery, AL (WSFA) -- Members of the E.D. Nixon Foundation gathered Saturday in Macon County to honor the man for whom the group is named.     More than a dozen people, including Tuskegee Mayor Johnny Ford, took part in the annual pilgrimage, which ended in Montgomery.

They attended a ceremony at Eastwood Memorial Gardens honoring Nixon for his legacy of tireless work to bring an end to segregation.  Nixon is remembered for working with Martin Luther King, Jr. to organize the Montgomery Bus Boycott.  He also served as president of the Montgomery NAACP.
