Montgomery, Al. (WSFA) -- Montgomery police are now looking for a murderer after the victim of a midmorning shooting dies.
The incident happened at a gas station across the street from the WSFA-TV studios.
The victim, 32-year-old Charles Ament Armstrong, Jr. died of his injuries around 1:45pm at a local hospital.
Armstrong was suffering from a single gunshot wound to the pelvis when officers arrived on the scene at the SnG gas station on the corner of Court Street and Delano Avenue.
"Mr. Armstrong was uncooperative, incoherent and could not advise anything regarding the incident," said MPD spokesman Captain Huey Thornton.
Police don't believe Armstrong was a random victim, "The suspect knew who he was looking for. He knew the victim was in the area and he came and found him," said Lt. Keith Barnett on the Montgomery Police Department. "This could have happened anywhere...Just so happened he located the victim at that point and time...and it occurred here..."
Investigators say there are no direct witnesses to the murder, but several people did partially observe the incident.
The suspect may be driving a white minivan.
