Man accused of Court Street murder extradited back to Alabama

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The suspect wanted in connection with last week's murder of a man across the street from the WSFA-TV studios in now in Montgomery police custody.

Willie Gendraw, 26, is accused of gunning down Charles Armstrong at the Stop and Go gas station on the corner of Court Street and Delano on July 14th.

The US Marshals Service helped track Gendraw to the Atlanta area were he was taken into custody.

On Monday, July 21, Gendraw signed a waiver of extradition and Montgomery police detectives traveled to Dekalb County, Georgia to pick him up.

He is now being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility under a $105,000 bond.

Police believe the murder of Armstrong was drug related.
