MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Montgomery Public Schools Superintendent John Dilworth is receiving high marks for his work in the school system.

"The superintendent received an overall composite rating of 7.9 out of a possible 9" said Henry Spears. Spears represents District Six and chaired the committe that oversaw the evaluation process. "He is sincere in his efforts to solve problems, communicates well with the board and works effectively with the community and other government bodies," Spears said, " We are happy to have him working for the children of Montgomery County."

Superintendent Dilworth was pleased with the evaluation saying, "It is important to know where the board sees strengths and weaknesses...we will be working to maintain the positive and working harder to improve in the areas the evaluation identified as needing improvement."

Areas in which the superintendent says he will concentrate this year include evaluation of employees, delegation of authority and looking at how to improve employee procedures.

There were 49 items on the boards evaluation of the superintendent including relationships with the board, community, staff and personnel, as well as education leadership, business/finance and personal qualities.
