Alabama Firefighters Return Home

Montgomery, Al (WSFA) -- Alabama firefighters who helped battle one of the worst wildfire seasons on record are back home tonight.  Twenty firefighters left almost two weeks ago to fight wildfires out west.

Members of the U.S. Park Service,  Alabama Forestry Commission and the Pelham Fire Department made up the crew.

They say fighting fires out west is a tough job, because the terrain is steep, rocky and sandy making it difficult to battle the blazes.

Despite the rough conditions, all of the firefighters said they would do it again
