WSFA 12 News Update: Identity of Chilton County Drowning Victim Released

Montgomery, Al (WSFA ) -- Authorities have identified the victim in Saturday's drowning in Chilton County as four year old James Shaver.  The drowning happened ay at Lay Lake.

It's believed the boy was playing with other children on a boat tied to a dock, when he fell into the water.  His parents dove in after him, but couldn't reach the boy.

Authorities say he wasn't wearing a life jacket. Dive teams found the boy's body about 4 hours later.

Shaver was just weeks away from his 5th birthday.
