Dothan PD Arrests Two on First Day of School

DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) - The first day back at Dothan High School was anything but normal as two people were arrested in two seperate incidents.

On Wednesday, Dothan City police officers made two trips to the high school.

First, police officers arrested the mother of a student for Disorderly Conduct. 28-year-old Josie Davis was at the school responding to accusations that her child had violated a school policy. The exact policy violation is unknown at this time. Davis was taken into custody by the on-duty School Resource Officer. She was transported to the Dothan City Jail.

In an unrelated incident officers arrested Mary Wright on Assault Second Degree, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest charges.

Police Chief John Powell says in a press release that Wright assaulted the on-duty School Resource Officer. She was subsequently tazed and taken into custody. She was also taken to the Dothan City Jail.
