Despite controversy, John Edwards will speak in Alabama

Montgomery, Al (WSFA) -- Former presidential hopeful and U.S. Senator John Edwards will still be coming to Alabama, despite his recent admission of an extramarital affair.

Officials with the Business Council of Alabama confirm Edwards will attend the council's November dinner.  Edwards signed a contract months ago to be a speaker at the group's annual chairman's dinner.

Last week, the former presidential candidate admitted to having an affair in 2006. The scandal has cost Edwards spotlight time at the Democratic convention and virtually killed any talk of a cabinet post in a Barack Obama administration.
