MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Tentative funeral arrangements are now set for Huntingdon College freshman Sam Collins.

Collins, a defensive lineman for Huntingdon College, died following the second practice of the preseason Friday morning.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 23, at 10:00am at Flomaton High School in Flomaton.

Collins was taken to Jackson Hospital where Montgomery Police Department spokesman Captain Huey Thornton said he was pronounced dead about 7:30 p.m. Friday evening.

Huntingdon officials said he became ill following a morning workout.

Thornton said the coaching staff thought he may have had heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
