Montgomery, Al (WSFA)-- A heads up for drivers as more troopers will be watching the roads this week. Starting today, more than 125 additional state troopers hit the road for another statewide "Take Back Our Highways" campaign.

It's a campaign to save lives and keep our roads safe. Troopers will be cracking down on speeding, aggressive drivers, and drunk drivers in an effort to lower the number of traffic fatalities around the state.

The Department of Public Safety says that the "Take Back Our Highways" campaign saved more than 150 lives during the last 18 months.

Troopers will also be rolling out the first of nine new "BAT Mobiles" this week.

BAT stands for "breath alcohol testing" and these units have special testing gear and other equipment needed to process impaired drivers and gather evidence for court.

The "Take Back Our Highways" campaign continues through Sunday, August 25th.
