MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Montgomery police investigators say they've arrested a man in connection with a weekend robbery at the Sports Authority store on the Eastern Boulevard.

The man, identified as 24-year-old Percy Rogers of 2943 Ellis Drive was initially arrested on public intoxication charges, but police soon linked him to the robbery through physical evidence.

Charges of Robbery 1st Degree were then added to Rogers' rap sheet, but police found another connection to the crime.

As it turns out, Rogers was dating the clerk of the store that was robbed.

Since Rogers allegedly robbed the store where his girlfriend worked, police doubt he picked the store at random.

Officials say the man has an extensive criminal history and is being held on $200,000 bond.
