MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Attorney General Troy King's office announced the arrest of a Montgomery man for the murder of his own wife Tuesday afternoon.

The murder happened eight years ago in Montgomery.

WSFA 12 News was the only local TV station with video of 79 year old Albert L. Wilding being taken into the Montgomery County Sheriff's office for booking.

As Wilding stepped out of the back of an SUV, hands cuffed behind him, he said to our camera, " What's happening, is absolutely ludicrous."

The Attorney General's office said Wilding was indicted on August 15th for intentionally causing the death of his wife, Judie Wilding.

The indictment states that Wilding committed the murder for financial gain including proceeds from life insurance and other assets.

"With the work of my cold case unit, justice delayed is no longer necessarily justice denied, but is becoming justice delivered--delivered to those who have waited far too long," said Attorney General King in a news release.

Judie Wilding vanished in 2000 from the parking lot of her business, Animall Pet Store off Vaughn Road.

Her body was never found.

WSFA 12 News will have more information on this story as it developes.
