Tropical Storm Fay is having at least one benefit for central Florida.
The storm has dumped several inches of rain into Lake Okeechobee.
Okeechobee is a backup water supply for nearly five million Floridians, and has seen record low levels in recent years.
Fay has pushed the lake level above 12 feet for the first time in more than two years.
South Florida Water District Manager Nestor Yglesis says that won't completely fix Okeechobee's problems, but it will go a long way.
