MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Closing arguments finished Monday morning in the Mario Woodward trial capital murder.
The jury began deliberations in around 11:20a.m.
Wooward is accused of shooting to death Montgomery police officer Keith Houts in 2006.
Jurors heard from witnesses who indicated Woodward said on his cell phone that he had killed a police officer.
The defense claims that testimony is unreliable.
If convicted, Woodward could face life in prison or the death penalty.
