Investigators: "Murder for Hire" in Deaths of Five Men

SHELBY COUNTY, AL - five men who were found dead with their throats slashed in a Shelby County apartment were victims of a "hit" according to investigators.

Officials says the "murders-for-hire" was orchestrated by organized crime, as $400,000 in drug money apparently disappeared before the murders.

Police have charged four men with capital murder, three of them are from Birmingham.

The other suspect is from San Antonio, Texas.

Police say they are still looking for two more people, who may or may not be charged in the murders.

The five victims were tortured with electrical shocks, beaten and then had their throats slashed.
