Ozark Elects New Mayor

Ozark's longtime mayor Bob Bunting is retiring, and that left an open seat. Lynda Webb, Andy Gilland and Billy Blackwell were fighting for Ozark's top job.

In the end, it was Blackwell who came out on top. He got 1,926 votes to Gilland's 1,694 votes, and Webb's 152 votes. Blackwell, who is born in Ozark, says it's humbling to be elected mayor of your hometown.

Blackwell is no stranger to service in Ozark. He's worked the last 23 years for the city. Most recently he served as city clerk.
