Governor Praises Teacher Mentor Program

Governor Bob Riley and State School Superintendent Joe Morton joined teachers from Jefferson, Montgomery and Elmore Counties for a roundtable discussion about the new mentor program, Monday.

The eight teachers recently took part in the first year of the state's program. The program pairs new teachers with seasoned ones to help them deal with the stress of their first year.

Close to 3,000 Alabama teachers were given support through the program.
