Homicide Investigator's Conference

One state group is helping local investigators learn the skills they need to solve crimes.

This years focus is on school shootings. And today the Alabama Homicide Investigators Association held a conference at Auburn University at Montgomery to look at how to handle campus shooting investigations.

An officer from the Virginia Police Department spoke to the group about what they learned from the Virginia Tech shooting and how to handle a federal investigation.

For the Alabama officers it is invaluable information in case it happens here at home. There are 150 members in the association and they meet once a year
