State Health Department Wants Alabamians to Lose 500,000 Pounds Through Initiative

In an effort to make our state healthier, the Department of Public Health launched this year's Scale Back Alabama campaign Monday morning.  This is the third year of the initiative, designed to encourage Alabamians to adopt healthier lifestyles through eating right and incorporating more physical activity into their day. Last year Alabamians lost 200,000 pounds on the program; this year, organizers have set a 500,000 pound goal.
