Dothan, Ala. (WSFA) -- Republican District 2 congressional candidate Jay Love received the support of city and county officials throughout the wiregrass Tuesday.

Dothan city commissioners Keith Seagle and John Craig, former Dothan mayors Chester Sowell and Kenneth Everett; joined other elected Houston and Henry county officials in support of Love.

Love says this support is vital.  "If you want the McCain/Palin/Love team than obviously than your vote is for me," said Love. "The people here in the wiregrass understand that conservatives, republicans and independents alike; know how important it is to keep this seat in the conservatives hands and I welcome it."

Love faces Democrat and Montgomery mayor Bobby Bright, who grew up in the wiregrass in the November general election.
