Chief Tax Appraiser Retires

Montgomery County's longtime Chief Tax Appraiser Tommie Miller is retiring.

He has held the position for the past 30 years. He says he is retiring due in part to health concerns.

Earlier this year Miller's office was raided by police and Miller also withdrew his name from the race for Revenue Commission. However, he says his retirement has nothing to do with either of those events.

Revenue Commissioner Sarah Spear says it could be more than a month before his replacement is named.

Miller's last day is Friday.
