LANETT, Ala. (AP) - Charges have not been filed in an incident that sent a Chambers County sheriff's deputy and a suspect to George H. Lanier Hospital.
Sgt. Shannon Rollins and 24-year-old Noah White remained hospitalized Tuesday following Sunday night's shooting in Chambers County.
Maj. George Melton said Rollins was in stable condition.
White's condition was not available.
The shooting occurred after police responded to a domestic disturbance call at 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
White was gone when deputies arrived but they followed him to a second location, where he fired gunshots and escaped.
Officers found White again in a nearby barn and say he fired at police before getting into a sheriff's car and driving toward them.
Officers then fired shots at the car.
White got out of the vehicle and was taken into custody before being transported to the hospital.
