Alabama Nat. Fair "Salute to America's Veterans"

This will be a special night at the Fair to honor the 2nd Honor Flight Veterans that will be flying to Washington D.C. the next morning.  We are also honoring all of our Veterans who have served the United States in the Armed Forces.  We are giving free admission into the Fair to all military personnel including active, National Guard, reserve and retired with proper I.D.  

3:30 p.m. - The "Silver Wings Band" (98th Army Band) from Ft. Rucker will be playing patriotic music as the 2nd Honor Flight veterans arrive on buses at the North Gate entrance of Garrett Coliseum.  A flyover (not confirmed) will take place after the veterans have been unloaded from the buses. 

4:00 p.m. - The "Silver Wings Band" will perform patriotic songs.

4:20 p.m. - Opening of ceremony by MC - Bob Howell of WSFA12

                   Moment of silence

                   Invocation - Hack Lloyd

                   Presentation of the Colors

                   National Anthem

                   Posting of the Colors

                   Pledge of Allegiance 

"The Woodlawn Warblers" from Woodlawn Baptist Church in Birmingham will perform a patriotic song

4:35 - Formal introductions of dignitaries by MC Admiral Clyde Marsh (Commissioner of the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs) will speak.

4:38 p.m. - Tribute & Salute

Mr. & Mrs. John Carter (ARRA - Rosie the Riveter)

4:48 p.m. - Noah Galloway to speak (recognizing all conflict veterans and services).

4:55 p.m. - Woodlawn Warblers will perform a Medley of Service Hymns (recognizing all branches of Military Service).  MC will announce that specific service veterans to stand when their service is announced.

5:00 p.m. - Woodlawn Warblers will perform and conclude program with the reenactment of the raising of the flag at Iwo Jima.

10:00 p.m.  - Fireworks Show
