Harriott II enters most dangerous stretch of journey

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Montgomery's new riverboat, the Harriott II, is about to begin the most dangerous stretch of its journey to the captal city.

The riverboat was in Venice, Florida Tuesday afternoon preparing to make the 24 hour trip up the Gulf of Mexico to Apalachicola near Panama City.

The boat is on its way to Montgomery from its old home in Savannah, Georgia.

From Apalachicola, it will take about a week for the boat to make its way up the Alabama River to Montgomery.
