ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Billy Graham has been released from a hospital in Asheville, North Carolina.
The 89-year-old evangelist spent the night there after he tripped and fell over one of his dogs late Friday at his home. A hospital spokeswoman says Graham has some discomfort and bruising, but no broken bones.
Graham spokesman Larry Ross says Graham had bent over to pet Sam, his golden retriever, when the dog got under his feet. According to Ross, "He's a loyal dog" and "follows Mr. Graham wherever he goes." He says the dog was a gift two years ago from friends of one of Graham 's children. Ross says Graham could have gone home after the X-rays, but decided to stay overnight because it was so late. Graham 's doctor says he expects a full recovery.
