OPELIKA, AL (WSFA) -- Some east Alabama veterinarians still aren't sure just who dropped off 32 cats at vet clinics in Lee County.

A letter was left at each clinic explaining the action. In it, the owner writes that she has cancer and can't care for the animals much longer.

The woman signed the letters as "Mrs. R" and notes of each cat's medical history and name were included.

"You can tell they're very much loved and very affectionate cats, very well taken care of" stated Dr. Kim Bond of the All Creatures Small Vet Clinic. "They all seem to be on a very good physical exam. They all seem to be in very good health".

Dr. Bond tells our east Alabama newspartner WTVM that only four cats are still in need of a home.
