BALDWIN COUNTY, AL (WSFA) - Baldwin County Sheriff's deputies responded to a burglary in progress call Wednesday evening but weren't prepared for what they came across.

Deputies rushed to the Curl and Style beauty shop off County Road 65 where they spotted the suspect's vehicle leaving the scene.

Once they apprehended the suspect, it was discovered that the blonde-headed woman in a silky floral print outfit and high heels was actually 42-year-old Fredric M. Koetter.

Two witnesses identified Koetter as the intruder and he confessed to the crime.

He told authorities that he broke into the beauty shop to see himself in the mirror dressed as a woman.

As investigators interviewed witnesses on the scene they noticed that Koetter bore an uncanny resemblance to the shop's owner.

He was dressed in similar clothing and had a wig in the same hair style as the owner.

While Koetter told deputies that the resemblance was just a coincidence, he later added that he did want to sit in the shop owner's chair to see what he would look like dressed like her.
