PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) - A 20-year-old man is in custody at this hour charged with the October 19th murder of an Autauga County businessman.
Autauga County Sheriff Herbie Johnson says the department issued four warrants for jail escapee Justin Tyler Hosch in the murder of 48-year-old Joe Wilmore. The warrants include Burglary 2nd Degree, Theft 1st and 2nd Degree and Murder.
According to authorities Hosch escaped from the Frank Lee Youth Center in Deatsville before allegedly committing the Autauga County crimes.
With the help of the US Marshals Service, the Alabama Bureau of Investigation, the 19th Judicial Circuit District Attorney's office and several sheriff's departments Hosch was arrested without incident Friday evening. He was approximately 200 miles from the crime scene in the northeast Alabama city of Scottsboro.
Joe "Joey" Wilmore was a popular local businessman who owned an automotive repair shop on County Road 40. Authorities say the suspect killed Wilmore in his shop before stealing his truck.
In a written statement Sheriff Johnson said, " This is a ridiculously senseless act on the part of a career criminal, and the pain and misery he has dealt this family will unfortunately always be a part of their lives."
Hosch is being held without bond at the Elmore County Jail, where he is awaiting transport by the Alabama Department of Corrections.
