AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - The Auburn Tigers were missing at least five defensive regulars in Tuesday's practice because of injuries.
Leading receiver Rod Smith also didn't practice with a hip bruise.
Coach Tommy Tuberville indicated he isn't certain of the status of those players for Saturday's game with Tennessee Martin.
He said defensive linemen Antonio Coleman, Sen'Derrick Marks, Tez Doolittle and Mike Blanc, cornerback Jerraud Powers and Smith all sat out practice.
Several other defenders are banged up, too.
The timing might be good for the Tigers (4-5), who could rest some players against a Football Championship Subdivision team to get them healthy for the closing games against rivals Georgia and Alabama.
Quarterback Kodi Burns said the Tigers are mentally beat up and just sick of losing.
They have dropped four consecutive games.
