Air Force tanker contract in limbo after election

Mobile, Ala. (WPMI) -- Earlier on the campaign trail now President-elect Barack Obama told members of a powerful aerospace union, which has close ties to Boeing, that he would fight for their jobs as President.

Boeing is competing for that tanker contract against Nothrup Grumman, which would build "it's" plant near Mobile. Obama's Alabama campaign chair, Democratic Congressman Artur Davis, says he hasn't always agreed with the President-elect.  Davis says, "I hope that as President of the United States he takes a fresh look at it.  If he takes a fresh look and allows his Defense Secretary to take a fresh look I feel good about Mobile's chances."

Depending on who wins that contract, It could bring thousands of jobs to Alabama.
