Gas Prices Drop 2 Cents Overnight in Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Tough economic times are not having an impact on gasoline prices in Alabama. AAA Alabama said the price of regular unleaded fell two cents overnight to a statewide average of $2.22 a gallon.

The price for regular has tumbled $2.22 since last month. The national average for regular is $2.24 Monday. The statewide average for midgrade is $2.32 while premium cost $2.38 a gallon.

A look at metro areas finds regular gas is cheapest in Montgomery at $2.14. Huntsville and Birmingham each tied for the highest average at $2.28 a gallon.
