Ala. cop charged with DUI in 4-wheeler wreck

FORT PAYNE, Ala. (AP) - A DUI charge led a Fort Payne police officer to turn in his badge Monday.

According to Assistant Police Chief Mike Grant, 37-year-old Will Clark of Fort Payne submitted his resignation after a warrant was issued his arrest.

A state trooper accused Clark of driving under the influence following a wreck on an all-terrain in rural DeKalb County.

The crash occurred late Saturday night. Grant said Clark and a female passenger suffered minor injuries.

Clark turned himself to DeKalb County sheriff's deputies and was released on a $1,500 bond.
