Bullock County Commissioner retires, passes the torch

Longtime Bullock County Commissioner Alonzo Ellis is stepping down.

Ellis served on the Bullock County Commission for 36 years. He says he's seen a lot of change during his time in office, but that he's always made sure to put the county first.

Ellis was not only the longest serving county commissioner, but he was also the first African-American commissioner.

During a swearing in ceremony Wednesday Ellis was replaced by his son,Alonzo Ellis, Jr.
