Troy's Chancellor Emails Supporters, Asks For Support This Saturday

The following is an email Troy University's Chancellor sent out to Troy University's fans.

Dear Trojans:

We NEED YOU!  This is a CALL TO ARMS for you to support our TROJANS!

On Saturday our Trojans gained national exposure when they led LSU 24-3 at halftime--and for 55 minutes outscored one of America's most accomplished teams.  That game was important but a victory over another Louisiana rival is more important!

On 22 November @ 6:00 pm we take a major step towards the New Orleans Bowl when we host the ULL 'Ragin Cajuns'!  A win over ULL will guarantee us a share of the Sun Belt Conference Championship--we can earn it outright with consecutive victories over ULL and Arkansas State University (ASU).  We host ASU on 6 December.

This "CALL TO ARMS" is the first such message I have disseminated during my 20 football seasons at Troy U!  I decided to send you a message for I believe this will be one our most important games played during the past two decades.

We need to support our Trojans by wearing "CARDINAL" colors and by remaining at the game for 4 QUARTERS!  Too often our students and fans depart before the end of the game but OUR TEAM NEEDS US FOR THE ENTIRE GAME!

Make your plans to come early, join us as our "Sound of the South" leads us in honoring those who have served our country through military service and remain for the post game celebration.

GO TROJANS!

Jack Hawkins, Jr. Ph. D.
Chancellor
