MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Montgomery police are classifying a shooting Tuesday afternoon as a "death investigation" after a man shot another man in the neck.
The incident happened around 1pm in the 4000 block of South Smiley Circle.
"There's a good possibility at this point it's going to be self defense," said Montgomery Police Department spokesman Captain Huey Thornton.
The 29-year-old victim, who has not been identified, was apparently involved in the robbery of the shooter last Thursday said Thornton.
While investigators weren't sure if the shooter reported the robbery to police last week, he did call police after shooting the man and did not attempt to flee the scene when authorities arrived.
The man told officers that the victim came back Tuesday and he was afraid he was about to be robbed again. That's when he shot the man.
No charges have been filed at this time.
