MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -- For the first Friday of each month over the past four years, the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts has showcased a different musical group paired with a wine sampling and Museum tour during its popular First Fridays event.
Friday, December 5, 2008, will conclude the First Fridays series at the MMFA. The event will feature Delta Highway, a traditional southern blues band. It will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. General Admission is $10; $8 for MMFA members and $5 for MMFA Masters.
Lara Lewis, Director of Marketing and Public Relations said, "We are thankful for Montgomery's faithful support of First Fridays for the past four years at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts. We have had a lot of fun combining fine art and fine music, but we are happy to announce that for 2009 we are going to combine fine art and fine dining at the Museum."
On Friday, March 6, 2009 at 6:30 p.m., an evening of art, fine food, and enjoyable wines in an unbeatable atmosphere is the scene of another new Museum experience called Café M: An Artful Bistro.
Café M will be premiering the first of a series of fine dining experiences. The evening will begin with a mini private tour of Bessie Potter Vonnoh: Sculptor of Women led by the Museum's Curator of Paintings and Sculpture, Margaret Lynne Ausfeld.
The evening will continue with a four-course meal paired with two featured wines. A local chef will be partnering with the Museum's own Jennie Weller to create a delectable dining experience and the duo will speak briefly about the various culinary components.
