HOPE HULL, AL (WSFA) -- Four suspects are in custody this afternoon after running from the police for almost eight hours near the Montgomery/Lowndes County border.

Officers are still in rural south Montgomery County with K-9 units right now searching for a possible fifth suspect.

The Lowndes County Sheriff's Department caught the suspects loading a U-Haul full of Crown Royal off an 18-wheeler at the Flying J Truck Stop just off Interstate 65 around four this morning.

The thieves immediately scattered heading toward south Montgomery County.

The search quickly transitioned into a full scale manhunt with law enforcement officers on hand from the Montgomery County and Lowndes County Sheriff's office, along with state troopers and a few U.S. Marshals.

Currently no charges have been handed down and there is no word on the identity of the suspects.

At last check, officers were tracing the possible fifth suspect down McClain Road in south Montgomery County.

We'll keep you posted with any new developments later this afternoon throughout our nightly newscasts.
