MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Twenty-one people were arrested Thursday in a special operation targeting the Regency Park area of Montgomery.
The operation was carried out by South, West and North Montgomery precincts along with K-9 units, a bike patrol and the Crime Reduction Team.
Officers fanned out from 9am to 1:30pm to serve warrants on a small number of people whom police say cause the majority of problems.
In all, those 21 people had a total of 92 outstanding warrants against them.
"This was a very successful operation. I had several citizens from the community who made positive remarks. They were glad to see our presence in the neighborhood," said South Precinct Commander, Captain G. D. Hicks, who headed the operation. "These citizens were pleased to see us out there working to make a difference."
