As a small child I watched my grandfather stuff money into a mattress because he didn't trust banks.
With the rise and fall of the Stock Market recently I am beginning to think that some people are doing the same thing.
In order for the economy to grow we must invest in it by purchasing goods and services and buying stocks.
This shows that the consumer has faith in the market and the economy.
That same grandfather also told me that you have to spend money to make money.
If job growth is to get back on track and sales revenues are to rebound we must buy rather than hold on to our money.
Like the man who held on to the seeds to keep them from sprouting, our money will wither and turn brown if we don't make it work for us all.
The holidays are coming - go shopping and make an investment in our economy.
