MICHAEL FLATLEY'S LORD OF THE DANCE
April 15, 2009
Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance, the international sensation that has broken box office records in more than 30 countries, is returning to North America for an expansive tour. Audiences across the United States, Canada and Mexico will have a chance to experience the extravaganza that has helped catapult Irish dancing into the global spotlight and created a new wave of Celtic dance mania. In less than five years, the show has brought a staggering 50 million people worldwide to their feet at sold out theatres, arenas, and stadiums.
"A showpiece extravaganza" - The Los Angeles Times "Fascinating, rewarding and above all, entertaining" - The New York Post

After playing to sell-out crowds for over nine seasons, STOMP continues its phenomenal runs with one North American touring company, the Boston company, two European touring companies, and the original New York off-Broadway production. The young and hip performers make a rhythm out of anything they can get their hands on that makes a sound. Synchronized stiff-bristle brooms become a sweeping orchestra; eight Zippo lighters flip open and closed to create a fiery fugue; wooden poles thump and clack in a rhythmic explosion. STOMP uses everything but conventional instruments.
