Dothan, AL (WSFA) -- Registers beep and the cash keeps flowing as stores and shoppers alike take advantage of the last day of a big weekend.
"We were very excited about the amount of sales [and] amount of guest traffic we actually got in the store," says Target Manager, Jacob Guthrie.
Guthrie says despite an economic slump, sales are steady.
"We did sales comparable to last year. We actually finished flat which means based off last year's forecast we actually met that. No big difference between last year and this year."
Target isn't the only store to see big sales. The northside Dothan Wal-Mart says this is the best black friday weekend they've ever seen.
Managers say the word recession means nothing to them. They say this past weekend brought heavy spending and lots of merchandise going out the door.
But neither store is slowing down any time soon.
"We're expecting to see steady guest traffic throughout December," says Guthrie.
And with tighter wallets this season, smaller price tags mean big purchases at these one-stop shops.
